1. New Jersey Kingfish tips.
Experience and recommendations for catching Kingfish at the Jersey shore. Traditional bait for New Jersey Kingfishing has always been bloodworms. Recently the price and availability of bloodworms has been a problem for surfcasters fishing for kingfish, a popular summer sport at the Jersey shore. Recently, we had a chance to tryout the new FishBites artificial bloodworm product at a surf fishing tournament last week. The setup: Ande 25lb test Fluorocarbon leader hand tied high low rig. Using Mustad wide gap 2 size hooks no floats. Using 2 of the same rigs 2 rods side by side real Bloodworms on one rod and Fishbites Blood worms on the other rod. The results: FishBites Bloodworms out fished the real thing 5 fish to 1 fish. Would have never thought any other Baits could out fish Live Bloodworms but they did.
